I am a 15 year old student who needs some help

I am a 15 year old student Looking to buy a digital camcorder. I need help with which one to get...i can spend up to $2000.00 on it. can anyone tell me what i should get. I have been looking into the canon GL-1...is it any good?

Hey you got waayy too much money for a teenager...
But since you got it youd better not waste it... check out the Cannon XM1 a good 3CCD camera, or get the Sony PC110E for ?1500 and spend the other ?500 on a reasonably good tripod, mic, firewire cables and case...

... OR GIVE THE MONEY TO ME!!!!!!!


ps- remember an expensive camera does not make the movie good, its up to you to use the tool well to express yourself

I dont think he has way too much money for a teenager. I am 13 and I saved $1800 and bought a Sony DCR-TRV30. I really like it. You should look into it. It's not a 3ccd, but who can tell the difference? Another really good camera is the DCR-TRV900. I think it came out in 1998 and it's still a pretty popular camera. I've also heard many good things about the GL1 and how similar it is to the XL1.

Not sure on the quality but the Sony DCR - TRV30 Mini DV Handycam is $1,699.99 through Amazon, although i would check your editing suite first to see whats compatable.

whats the fucking big deal with DV and SVHS cameras....has anyone not realised how they make films look like amateur home videos? theyre such wankness....too sharp...look like a fucking kiddy production...ive GOTTA use them but the films i make are purposely dark or well lit so u cant see how fucking poor these cameras make things look.

but good luck in finding one.
